Volunteer Head and Assistant Coaches

If you are an organized, high-energy and positive person, we encourage you to apply to be a volunteer head coach or assistant coach in our intramural program.  Volunteer coaches will be responsible for running one practice and one game per week.  Typically, the conference managers can accommodate a coach's weeknight schedule for practices, and games are played on Saturday mornings and afternoons.  Parent coaches are expected to follow the club's player development curriculum, which is outlined in the coaching manuals.  Parent coaches also should attend the pre-season orientation clinic, which is a 90-minute program held on an evening the week before the fall season starts, as well as participate in professional training sessions offered to their teams.  Additional information for running practices can be found in the Coaches Resources.

RETURNING COACHES: If you coached in our club last year and submitted background check clearances, you only need to complete the Risk Management Application described below and then proceed directly to the COACH REGISTRATION FORM.

NEW COACHES: Volunteer coaches are required to obtain the following documents and submit them electronically using the the COACH REGISTRATION FORM:

Volunteers who have lived in PA for all of the past 10 years need to print and sign a Disclosure Statement Application for Volunteers.  It is valid for 5 years.

Volunteers who have not lived in PA for all of the past 10 years need to obtain FBI clearance via Applicant Fingerprinting Online Services. It is valid for 5 years.

You also should send an email to the conference manager for your age group to let them know you are interested in coaching.  Please note that in some age groups we have an abundance of coaches, so not everyone who applies will be accepted as a coach.
